Creating a simple and intuitive slide viewer for SlideShare

There's a UX debate about scrolling vs clicking.

SlideShare's keynote player employs a click based interaction pattern to navigate between the presentation slides.

I felt that the SlideShare experience could benefit from a scrolling mode where the user doesn't have to take deliberate clicking actions in order to continue viewing the presentation.

Now, it wasn't possible to make such a radical change in the SlideShare player just based on a theory.

In order to test this hypothesis, I went ahead and made SlideShare Theater, it's a Chrome extension that provides a distraction free natural scroll based experience to SlideShare users.

The extension was well received within and outside SlideShare and was featured as the Product of the day on Producthunt.

The extension has 1000+ installs & a high user rating.
